Your first consultation, fertility testing, ultrasounds, stimulation monitoring and follow-up all take place here. Lab work is processed with Labcorp, and genetic studies are done through Natera when medically indicated.
The procedures that need an embryology laboratory and an operating room (egg retrieval, fertilization and embryo transfer) are performed at an Ingenes location in Mexico. Most patients spend about a week there and come back to Houston for the pregnancy test and follow-up with the same team.

Do I have to travel to Mexico for IVF?
Only for the procedures that need the laboratory: egg retrieval, fertilization and embryo transfer. Consultations, testing, monitoring, the pregnancy test and follow-up all happen in Houston.
How long will I stay in Mexico?
About a week if you stay from egg retrieval through embryo transfer, or two shorter trips if you prefer to fly home in between. Your team confirms the exact dates once each step is scheduled.
Does insurance cover fertility treatment?
In most cases insurance does not cover the treatment itself, though some lab studies and medications can be processed through it. We offer payment plans and financing for patients who start their treatment in Houston.
Does the team speak English and Spanish?
Yes. The Houston team and the international team at our Mexican locations are bilingual.
