The testimony of Ana shows that when you decide to become a mother, nothing is impossible. Since she was young, Ana had thyroid problems and, due to poor medical care, developed cysts that affected her fallopian tubes.
Below, Ana shares her medical journey to having her two babies thanks to a multiple-cycle In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) program.
How to overcome obstacles to become a mother with IVF?
“Hearing my babies’ heartbeats was the most exciting moment of my life. When I was young, my thyroid treatment was inadequate and caused cysts. One tube became blocked and the other was functioning at 2%. That’s when my search began: doctors, fertility clinics, and very high costs. It’s frustrating, stressful, and sometimes you feel like everything is falling apart.

There were times when I thought I wouldn’t make it. I told my husband that if I couldn’t give him children, maybe he should find happiness with someone else. He looked at me and said, “We’ll find the solution together.”
We spent eight months on injections and medication. It was tough, but the desire to be a mother gave me strength. The doctors, my husband, my parents, my friends, and I worked as a team. Avoid self-medicating and always consult a specialist.

Finally, the doctor said, “Congratulations, you’re pregnant!” All the effort, patience, and hope were rewarded in that moment.
Before undergoing any treatment, see a specialist in Assisted Reproduction to evaluate your case.
