When trying to conceive a baby, the journey can be challenging and filled with emotional and physical ups and downs. For women who suffer from adenomyosis or any other similar infertility condition, the process can be even more difficult.
But there is hope, as demonstrated by the story of Eridani, a true warrior who overcame adversity and managed to conceive through the technology and science of Assisted Reproductive Methods.
Here you will learn about her inspiring testimony of perseverance, faith, and unwavering love for her babies. Her story is living proof that with the right support and unwavering determination, any dream is possible.
“I remember telling my husband Enrique once, 'If you wish, you can find someone else, the problem is me.' It was very tough.
You see, my life used to involve work, work, and more work... until I got married. Then, that little feeling of 'I want to be a mom, I want to have kids' awakened in me, and my life took a turn and that feeling became the most important thing.
It took me almost 3 years to get pregnant, and during that time, everything was a whirlwind of emotions. I felt overwhelmed and sad, and those years were very stressful. The first clinic we went to told us that it was impossible to achieve it in Mexico and suggested that we had to travel to the United States.
I decided not to give up, and with Enrique's unconditional support, we traveled to New York, but we didn't succeed there either. We returned to Mexico, and some friends who were also in treatment told us about the institute, so we decided to give it one last try.
In that first interview with the doctor, I felt so confident. They answered all my questions and gave me a diagnosis: endometriosis, adenomyosis, and poor egg quality.
It was an emotional shock because we assume that all women can become mothers easily, but that's not the case. I talked to my mom and sister, who were important supports in this process.
It also helped that, although it may sound like a cliché, we changed our mindset, and with the confidence that the institute gave us, everything went well and became easier.
When the phone rang, and I heard, 'Eri, congratulations, you're going to be a mom' I screamed... Finally, 3 years later, everything was worth it!
During the first ultrasound, we only heard the heartbeat of one baby, and they told us there was another 'sac,' but no heartbeat could be heard, so they said it was normal and would disappear. But 10 days later, that 'sac' had a heartbeat, and that's when I heard my other baby's heartbeat too.
We were 3 hearts beating at the same time. When the day finally came and I had my girls in my arms, I just thought as I looked into their eyes: Thank goodness I never gave up!
Thanks to them for choosing me as their mother, and thanks to my husband for never letting go of my hand and accompanying me on this incredible journey.”
Illnesses that lead to infertility are not an impediment to becoming a mother. Remember that today there is a wide range of possibilities that will help you fulfill your dream, just like Eridani did.
